Back of the Hill Update for 2020

Over the past two years we were successful in stopping a mountain bike path that would have degraded the terrain and destroyed indigenous and planted trees and shrubs. Paths and jumps were blocked with tree trunks, limbs and brush. Control of invasive Norway maples continued especially in the area at the top of the sight known as the terrace which was part of the bike trail. Bittersweet and wild grape vine were kept in check. A tremendous amount of trash blown into the site above and behind 100 South Huntington Ave. was collected. Slope stabilization in this area using hung up fallen trees is planned for the coming year. A presentation to residents of the buildings will precede the work.
