Managing Invasives in the Pollinator Meadows

When left alone, a meadow in the city doesn't stand a chance against invasive plant species. Plant diversity is out, and uniformity is the rule. Photo above is the upper meadow last August with now spring intervention Thanks to those who came out and helped the last two Saturday May 18 and May 25 2024: Ann, Andrea, Jack, Perry, Ella, Nancy and Dennis.

It's a difficult tedious process, made better with the help of friends. Even stopping by to say hi is a help.

Photo above left shows some of what was removed from the lower meadow. Photo above right shows green matter brought into adjacent woodland to protect and enrich areas where soil is exposed.

What there is to show for it: delicate diversity!
